Mr. Christos Georgousopoulos, BSc Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering, Msc, N.T.U.A., MBA

Christos Georgousopoulos was as Flag State Surveyor at Department of shipbuilding inspections .He was the Head of this Department, except some intervals during which he was the deputy Head. He had been involved for more than 20 years in various surveys (annual, renewal, intermediate, unscheduled) of Greek flagged and foreign vessels of various types. He was participated as Ministry of Mercantile Marine representative in various meeting held at IMO and EU premises.  He was member of the Merchant Ships’ Inspection General Directorate’s experts’ team for the Type Rating Certificate of High Speed Crafts’ officers and the issuance of the Permit to Operate for said crafts. He was permanent member of the Technical Council of Ministry of Mercantile Marine. Further to the above, Christos has served as Naval Architect and Fleet Superintendent Engineer with basic responsibilities were the preparation and supervision of repairs and dry dockings of company’s fleet, the surveillance and enforcement, on all company’s vessels of new Rules and Regulations coming into force from Classification Societies, Coast Guards and various International Maritime Organizations.  Also, he was responsible for the supervision of quality of bunkers supplied company’s fleet and for the claims arised due to disputed fuels’ quality/quantity. Presently, Christos offers Technical Advice and Consulting on engineering matters, investigating complex machinery failures, as well as steel construction inspections and surveys (new building and conversion).
